What is Botox?
Botox is one of the most trusted and effective treatments offered by Dr Karl Schmidt for softening expression lines, rejuvenating a tired appearance, and restoring a smoother, more refreshed look. It is a purified protein derived from Clostridium botulinum and is administered in very small, safe doses to relax overactive muscles that cause lines and wrinkles.
Because the effects are temporary, Botox allows for natural-looking results that can be adjusted over time to match your desired outcome.
How Botox Works
Botox temporarily blocks nerve signals to targeted muscles. This relaxes the muscle activity that causes wrinkles and prevents deeper lines from forming.
A typical appointment lasts 30 minutes to 1 hour and includes:
-
Application of a numbing cream (10–15 minutes)
-
Marking and measuring of precise injection points
-
Injection using a fine needle with minimal discomfort
